Florida Students Receive 2019 Achievement Awards From Boca Raton Pen Women

Three young women pursuing careers in visual art, music and letters received achievement awards from the Boca Raton Branch National League of American Pen Women in an award ceremony and luncheon on April 11, 2019 at the Delray Beach Golf Club.

The awardees, Noelle Putnik, Corrine Binnings and Valentina Paolucci, will use their grants of $1,000 each to help them further their careers in the arts.

Noelle Putnik, an FAU undergraduate student in art, received the Pen Women award in visual arts. Corrine Binnings, an FAU student in the Creative Writing MFA Program, received the letters achievement award. Valentina Paolucci, a senior student at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts, received the music achievement award.

Ms. Putnik exhibited photographs of her recent art installations at the luncheon. Corrine Binnings read one of her poems and an essay. And Valentina Paolucci played an original violin composition. Pen women and guests at the luncheon applauded the presentations and artistic achievements of these promising young women.

Boca Raton Pen Women continue to raise money through ongoing programs and events to support women in the arts with grants, and to fund outreach programs in the local community.
